Abstract: A 1984 qualitativs survey for parasites of Henosepilachna (=Epilachns.) viqintioctopunctata conducted in September and October in Central and Southern China revealed the presence of Pediobius foveo.latus (Crawford)4 (Hymenoptera: Eulophidae); Tetrastichus sp. (Hymenoptera: Eulophidas); Catolaccus sp. (Hymenoptera: Pteromalidas)5 and an unidentified soecies. P. foveolatua was recovered in BeiJing, Shanxi and Hubei Provinces, and Hongkong. It appears rather widespread and moat consistantly causes the host beetle to form pupal mummies. Tetrastichus sp. waa collected in the first three locations mentioned above and in Jiangxi Province, Laboratory rearinga showed that. Tetraatichua sp. waa an obligate parasite on P. foveolatua. and any attempts at the biological control of H. viqintioctopunstata, a pest of potato, egg plant and tomato, would need to contend with the complicating presence of Tetraatichus ap. in widely aeparated areas of Central China. A aingle specimen of Catolaccus ap. waarecovered in Yongchu County, Shanxi Province, but ita exact function remains uncertain. A culture of P_._ foveolatua was succeasfully transported to the Beneficial Inaecta Research Laboratory, Newark, Delaware, USA, for rearing and further study.
