STUDIES ON THE EFFECTIVE COMPONENTS OF AGRICULTURAL ANTIBIOTIC 120

Abstract: Agricultural Antibiotic 120 (AA120) is produced from Streptmyce shydrospinosus var. beijingensis. Two new liposoluble components have bee n extracted, isolated and purified recently, and were named respectively AA120 A ' and AA120 B'. In once hrough extraction, the recovery of AA120 A' was more than 50%. The physical and chemical characteristics of AA120 A' was studie d. it was found that AA120 A' had a strong antibiotic action against several pla nt pathogenic fungi such as Pellicularia saskii, Valsa mali , etc.
