To evaluate the potential to parasitize Conogethes punctiferalis eggs, we investigated the functional responses of four Trichogramma strains to C. punctiferalis eggs and their self-density effects in laboratory. The results indicate that functional responses of T. ostriniae (TO-SD and TO-JL) and T. dendrolimi (TD-SD and TD-XJ) to C. punctiferalis eggs fitted well with the Holling II type model and the four strains could parasitize C. punctiferalis eggs. The value of a/Th of TD-XJ strain was 19.22, the highest in the four strains. The maximum parasitizing capacity of TO-SD, TD-SD, TO-JL and TD-XJ to C. punctiferalis eggs was 25.4, 35.3, 24.6, and 35.0, respectively. Self-density effects interfering with parasitizing efficiency were observed in the four Trichogramma strains. The parasitism rate increased with the increase of Trichogramma density, while the searching efficiency decreased. The maximal searching coefficient (Q) was 0.2931 with the TD-XJ strain. The results show that the TD-XJ strain of is prospective for field release. %U http://www.zgswfz.com.cn/EN/10.16409/j.cnki.2095-039x.2020.03.028
