Abstract: The egg parasitoids of the larch caterpillar, Dendrolimus superans, were investigated in Xiaoxing'anling Mountains in 2002. Three parasitic species were obtained from the pest eggs, i.e., Pachyneuron solitarium (Hymenoptera: Pteromalidae), Telenomus tetratomus (Hym.: Scelionidae) and Trichogramma dendrolimi (Hym.: Trichogrammatidae). A total of 3292 eggs were collected at two forest areas by random sampling. The rearing results showed that the total parasitic rate of the three parasitoids was up to 92.38%, in which P. solitarium 56.23%, T. tetratomus 35.66%, and T. dendrolimi only 0.49%. The number of wasps emerged from a parasitized egg was only one for P. solitarium and 8 wasps (maximum 13 wasps) for T. tetratomus. The sex ratio of the wasps emerged from the parasitized host egg was 1.63∶1 for P. solitarium and 1.47∶1 for T. tetratomus.
