Abstract: Entomopathogenic fungi, the important microbial insecticides, have been widely used in biological control of agricultural and forestry pests. Because of the wide range of hosts and active infection, entomopathogens, when infecting or killing the target pests, may have potential pathogenic or sublethal risks to non-target arthropods including insect natural enemies. In this paper, we summarized the progress in application of entomopathogens for pest control and the negative effects of entomopathogens on natural enemies, and provided perspectives on the future development direction of combined application of the high potential entomopathogenic fungi pesticides and natural enemy organisms in pest management.

Key words: entomopathogenic fungi, pest control, insect natural enemies, risk, synergetic application
