Abstract: Acute toxicities and safety of eight insecticides (chlorantraniliprole, flubendiamide, indoxacarb, lufenuron, tetrachloroandiamide, chlorfenapyr, spinetoram, and emamectin benzoate) recommended for the control of fall armyworm, Spodoptera frugiperda by Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of China on adult wasps of Telenomus remus, the dominant egg parasitoid of the armyworm, were evaluated using the dry film residue method under laboratory conditions. The results showed that emamectin benzoate, spinetoram and chlorfenapyr had moderate risk to T. remus with the LR50 values of 4.39×10-4 mg a.i./cm2 (4.00×10-4—4.77×10-4), 4.96×10-4 mg a.i./cm2 (4.48×10-4—5.47×10-4), and 9.81×10-4 mg a.i./cm2 (9.06×10-4—1.07×10-3), respectively. The other five insecticides, chlorantraniliprole, flubendiamide, indoxacarb, lufenuron, tetrachloroandiamide and chlorantraniliprole showed low risk to T. remus and can be used as priority pesticides in controlling S. frugiperda during T. remus field population peaks and release periods.
