Research Progress in Chemical Structure, Biosynthesis, Regulation and Applications of Pseudomonas Metabolite Pyoluteorin

Abstract: Pyoluteorin (Plt) is one of the secondary metabolites produced by Pseudomonas spp. and has a broad spectrum of antibiotic activity. In this review, Plt producing strains, chemical structure, biosynthesis and regulatory mechanisms were introduced. The strategies and achievements in constructing high Plt yield strains were then summarized. Finally, the potential of Plt as a new metabolite biopesticide and future work in this field were discussed and prospected.
