Abstract: A microsporidian was isolated from Athetis lepigone overwintering larvae, based on morphological and molecular biology experiments, it was preliminarily proved that the microsporidian had the closest relationship with Nosema bombycis, which belong to Microsporea, Microspoida, Nosematida, Nosema. Bioassay tests showed that microsporidian had high toxicity against different instars larvae of A. lepigone. The corrected mortality of the concentration 1×107 spores/mL to initial hatching larva, 2nd instar larva and 3rd instar larva at 8 d after infection were 91.6%, 83.35% and 70.4%. In field investigation, we concluded that the microsporidian could controll A. lepigone populations with potential application value.
