Abstract: This study investigated the effects of Wofengkang, a special microbial agent for seedlings cultivation, on root growth and vitality of cutting seedlings of variety Tainong No. 1 and Qinguo No. 9 as well as grafted seedlings of variety Qinguo No. 9. Moreover, the efficacies of the microbial agent Guangenbao in suppressing basal stem rot disease of Tainong No. 1 seedlings as well as its effects on seedling growth were evaluated under different application methods during transplantation in the greenhouse, individually or co-applying with the chemical agent azoxystrobin+metalaxyl-M+fludioxonil, or application after soil fumigation. The results indicated that root drenching with Wofengkang microbial inoculant (1000-fold dilution, 50 mL/plant) significantly improved the shoot and root growth of passion fruit seedlings compared to the water control. For Tainong No. 1 cuttings, ‘Qinguo No. 9' cuttings, and ‘Qinguo No. 9' grafts increased by 45.5%, 93.6%, and 72.0%, respectively, and the root vitality increased by 129.8%, 139.2%, and 110.3%, respectively. In the diseased soil artificially inoculated with spore suspensions of Neocosmospora ipomoeae strain B7 (1×107 spores/mL) and Arcopilus aureus strain A28 (1×107 spores/mL) at a volume/weight ratio of 2:1:20, all treatments applied with Guangenbao or co-applied with azoxystrobin+metalaxyl-M+fludioxonil performed the best control efficacy of 100.0%. In the diseased soil artificially inoculated with solid pathogen inocula of strain B7 and A28 at the weight/weight ratio of 2:1:20, the passion fruit seedlings grown in dazomet-fumigated soil exhibited higher plant height, root length, and fresh root biomass in comparison with non-fumigated treatment. And co-application of azoxystrobin+metalaxyl-M+fludioxonil with Guangenbao after fumigation performed good control efficacy of 85.4%. The results demonstrated that Wofengkang agent promoted the seedlings growth of different passion fruit varieties, indicating that it can be recommended for application in seedling cultivation. As to the diseased soil with high amounts of pathogens, co-application of fungicide azoxystrobin+metalaxyl-M+fludioxonil with microbial agent Guangenbao after dazomet fumigation performed best on disease control plant growth promoting effects.
