Abstract: The wolf spider Pardosa pseudoannulata is one of the dominant predators in farmlands of south China. This research explored impact of temperatures on growth and development of P. pseudoannulata, providing valuable information for artificial reproduction and protection of this spider. The consumption rate of nutrients in embryos was significantly different at different temperatures (25, 30, and 35℃), vitellin consumption rate was max at 30℃, which was significantly faster than at 25℃ and 35℃ (P<0.05). The developmental time of spider was significant shorter at 30℃ when compared with 25℃ and 35℃. And, the generation survival rate was also the highest at 30℃. The temperature also exerted impact on spider ponderal growth, while other growth parameter was insensitive to temperature. In conclusion, the suitable environmental temperature for growth and development of P. pseudoannulata was 30℃.
