Application and Promotion of Mamestra Brassicae Nucleopolyhedrovirus Suspension for Control of Spodoptera frugiperda

Abstract: Control efficacy of the wide-host range Mamestra brassicae nucleopolyhedrovirus against the fall armyworm, Spodoptera frugiperda, was evaluated in corn fields. The 2×109 PIB/mL Mamestra brassicae nucleopolyhedrovirus suspension at 50—60 mL per mu reached control efficacy of over 85% within 7 days post treatment. The product was used to control Spodoptera frugiperda on maize for 0.449 million mu in Jiangxi, Sichuan and Guizhou Province in 2019.
