Screening and Molecular Identification of Metarhizium Strains against Holotrichia oblita

Abstract: Metarhizium is a highly toxic pathogenic fungus against a variety of pests. A strain M7-9 showing high virulence to Holotrichia oblita 1st instar larvae was screened from four Metarhizium strains. Mortality rate and cadaver rate by the fungus were both 96.67%, LT50 and LC50 were 2.82 d and 1.29×106 spores/mL, respectively. ITS sequence analysis showed that the strain M7-9 is M. anisopliae.
