Abstract: The effects of different concentrations of honey, fructose, glucose, and sucrose on longevity, daily survival rate, fecundity, spawning period, daily fecundity, and the developmental duration, longevity, parasitic rate, emergence amount, female rate of filial generation of Exorista civilis were measured. E. civilis fed on 10% honey solution lived longer than those in the control, with a 33.13 and 21.71 d of life expectancy for female and male flies, respectively. The fecundity (70.20) and daily fecundity (13.77) of the flies fed 10% honey solution were higher than those in other treatments. However, no significant differences were detected in other indexes, like pupal weight, parasitic rate and female rate of filial generation, among the treatments.
