Abstract: With the development of genetic engineering technology, more and more transgenic insect-resistant crops have been commercialized, which brings many benefits to agricultural production, but at the meantime may lead to potential risks to the eco-agricultural system. In particular, the impact of insect-resistant crops on the diversity of field arthropods has attracted much attention. In this review,we summarized the analysis methods and existing results of the impact of transgenic insect-resistant maize on target pests and non-target organisms, analyzed the limitations of arthropod diversity research methods, and put forward some feasible suggestions, which are meant to provide a reference for the environmental safety assessment of insect-resistant maize in China.

Key words: transgenic insect-resistant maize, biodiversity, target pests, non-target organisms, arthropod
