Abstract: To enhance the control efficiency of Paecilomyces cicadae against Phenacoccus solenopsis, P. cicadae combined with six different pesticides were systematically evaluated for compatibility and synergistic effects. The results showed that matrine, dinotefuran, and nitenpyram at diluted concentrations promoted the spore germination of P. cicadae. All six tested pesticides inhibited the colony growth of P. cicadae, but this inhibitory effect weakened as the concentration decreased. Dinotefuran at a 10-fold dilution exhibited the most significant promotion effect on the sporulation of P. cicadae, indicating the neonicotinoid insecticide dinotefuran of best compatibility with P. cicadae. Except for sodium pimaric acid, the combination of P. cicadae with 5-fold or 10-fold diluted matrine, azadirachtin, dinotefuran, nitenpyram, and beta-cypermethrin all showed synergistic or additive effects. The mixture of P. cicadae and 10-fold diluted dinotefuran or 5-fold diluted matrine significantly enhanced the control efficiency against P. solenopsis while effectively reducing pesticide use, providing important guidance for agricultural practical production.
