六斑月瓢虫对草地贪夜蛾低龄幼虫的捕食作用

摘要: 为评价六斑月瓢虫对草地贪夜蛾的生物防治潜能,本试验在人工气候环境条件下,研究了六斑月瓢虫成虫和4龄幼虫分别对草地贪夜蛾1龄、2龄幼虫的捕食功能和搜寻效应。结果表明:六斑月瓢虫成虫和4龄幼虫对草地贪夜蛾1龄、2龄幼虫均具有较强的捕食能力,其捕食功能反应均符合HollingⅡ模型。与捕食草地贪夜蛾2龄幼虫相比,六斑月瓢虫成虫和4龄幼虫对草地贪夜蛾1龄幼虫具有更大的瞬时攻击率、搜寻效应和日最大捕食量,而处理时间更短;与成虫相比,六斑月瓢虫4龄幼虫对草地贪夜蛾1龄、2龄幼虫的控害能力(a/Th)更强,理论条件下的日最大捕食量分别为217.4头和135.2头。试验研究结果表明,六斑月瓢虫对草地贪夜蛾1龄和2龄幼虫具有良好的控制潜能,为保护利用六斑月瓢虫持续防控草地贪夜蛾提供了理论依据。

Abstract: This study aims to evaluate the biological control potential of Menochilus sexmaculata on Spodoptera frugiperda. The predation functional responses and searching efficacy of adults and the 4th instar larvae of M. sexmaculata to the 1st and 2nd instar larvae of S. frugiperda were studied under the conditions of artificial climate in the laboratory. The results indicated that both adults and the 4th instar larvae of M. sexmaculata showed strong predatory ability against the 1st and 2nd instar larvae of S. frugiperda, and their predation functional responses both conformed to the HollingⅡ model. The attacking efficiency, searching efficiency and the maximum daily predation quantity of adults and the 4th instar larvae of M. sexmaculata to the 1st instar larvae of S. frugiperda were both much higher than those to the 2nd instar larvae, respectively, but shorter handling time was observed in the former than in the latter. Compared with adults, the 4th instar larvae of M. sexmaculata showed a higher control efficiency against the 1st and 2nd instar larvae of S. frugiperda based on the a/Th, which corresponds to the maximum daily predation quantity of 217.4 and 135.2, respectively. This study indicates that the predatory ladybug M. sexmaculata has a good potential to control the 1st and 2nd instar larvae of S. frugiperda, which is meaningful for the conservation of M. sexmaculata for sustainable control of S. frugiperda.
