Abstract: Beauveria bassiana is an entomogenous fungus showing significant control of agricultural and forestry insect pests. To further promote the development of B.bassiana pesticide,it is indispensable to develop low-cost B.bassiana fermentation methods or optimize its fermentation conditions.Using spent mushroom substrates as the main medium to cultivate B.bassiana, this study preliminarily optimized the composition of the culture medium and the conditions for cultivating B.bassiana by single-factor experiments and orthogonal experiments. The results showed that spent mushroom substrates were suitable as the main culture medium for B.bassiana.When the material-to-liquid ratio is 1:4,with addition of 0.3% manganese sulfate,0.5% ammonium nitrate, and 10% inoculation amount,at a cultivating temperature of 25℃ and a cultivating period of 4 d,the spore production of B.bassiana reached 2.0×109 conidia/mL.The results confirm the feasibility of cultivating B.bassiana with spent mushroom substrates, which may shed light on low-cost fermentation of other biocontrol fungi.
