Abstract: The soybean cyst nematode (SCN, Heterodera glycines) is one of the most important pests in soybean production. Due to high economic and environmental costs associated with chemical control of nematode, endophytic rhizobacteria have been used successfully for the biological control of SCN. This paper measured mortality, egg hatching, oxygen consumption and permeability of body fluids of SCN second-stage juvenile which was treated by fermentation liquor of Sneb183 (Sinorhizobium fredii). When treated to nematode juvenile, Sneb183 resulted in 86.7% of nematode juvenile at 72 h post-treatment. Sneb183 inhibited nematode hatching by 59.4%. At 24 h after treatment, the oxygen consumption rate was decreased by 93.1%, while at 48 h after treatment, the conductivity was increased by 62.4%. The study suggested that Sneb183 could be a new agent for biological control of soybean cyst nematode.
