Abstract: A sex pheromones microcapsule emulsion was prepared using emulsifying starch, maltodextrin, ß-cyclodextrin, and liquid paraffin as wall materials and sex pheromone of oriental fruit moth as the core material and evaluated for effectiveness of mating disruption control of Grapholitha molesta Busck in pear orchard in Korla, Xinjiang at the end of April 2013. Results showed that, with sex pheromones at 45, 75, 120 and 75 g/hm2 (frozen for one year), the rates of mating disruption were 89.0%, 95.8%, 90.7% and 93.6%, respectively; rates of bored fruits were 1.48%, 1.85%, 2.22% and 1.85%, respectively; and corrected control efficacies were 72.26%, 77.81%, 66.71% and 72.26%, respectively. Efficacy of the sex pheromone microcapsule emulsion could last for 76 d.
