Abstract: To improve the mass rearing and field application of Arma chinensis, we examined the effects of silkworm and tussah pupae used alone or in mixture on the development, reproduction and predation ability of A. chinensis. The results showed that the development duration of A. chinensis nymph did not differ between the prey treatments, which were about 26 days, but the preoviposition period of A. chinensis differed significantly. The preoviposition period of the mixed prey treatment was 10.3 days, which was 1.54 times and 1.34 times of the silkworm pupa's and the tussah pupa's, respectively. At the same time, the prey treatment significantly affected the body size, reproduction, longevity, predation, and starvation tolerance of adult A. chinensis, which increased by 5%-9%, 13%-38%, 2-7 days, 15%-20%, and 20%-60%, respectively, in the mixed prey treatment in comparison with the single prey treatment.
