Abstract: Spider mites, thrips, and whiteflies are small yet detrimental sucking pests that pose big threats to vegetable production. Biological control is regarded as one of the most environmentally friendly, safe, and sustainable managements, by using predators to mitigate vegetable infestations by pest insects and mites. Predatory mites, a group of phytoseiid species with various feeding habits, stand out as the most widely-applied biocontrol agents for controlling vegetable pest insects and mites. The predators from the family Phytoseiidae encompasses the greatest diversity of predatory mites that have been developed for biocontrol. In this review, we summarized various phytoseiid predators for pest mites and plant-parasitic nematodes on vegetables and reviewed their application in pest control and proposed the combined pest management strategies with predatory mites and other control techniques. At last, we recommended future prospects for integrating predatory mites in vegetable productions.
