Abstract: The effect of intercropping different green manures in tea plantations on the small green leafhopper (SGL) and its egg parasitoids were investigated in Fu'an, Fujian Province from 2010 to 2011. The results showed that intercropping different green manures showed significant influence on both the SGL populations (F=3.15, P<0.05) and the mymarids (F=4.22, P<0.01). The SGL population in tea plantations intercropped with Indigofera spicata Forssk+Lotononis bainesii Baker were the highest (1035), while in tea plantations intercropped with Indigofera spicata+Crotalaria pallida Ait., the population was the lowest (378). Intercropping green manure did not change the temporal population dynamics of SGL. The largest populations (263) of the mymarids were observed in tea plantations intercropped with Trifolium repens Linn.+Chamaecrista rotundifolia, which was 61.98% higher than in the CK, indicating that intercropping with green manure can significantly increase the mymarids population. The SGL and its egg parasitoids populations showed significantly positive correlations within all the five tea plantations. The highest ratio of natural enemies to pests (0.56) was achieved in tea plantations intercropped with T. repens+C. rotundifolia, which contrasted to the ratio of 0.18 in the CK.
