Abstract: To study the control efficacy of biogas slurry of chicken manure (New Status) on Chinese chive gnat Bradysia odoriphaga, the toxicity of New Status against eggs, larvae of B. odoriphaga were tested in laboratory by the dripping ration liquid methods and the stomach-contact combination toxicity methods, respectively. Besides, repellent effects of New Status against larvae and female adults of B. odoriphaga were evaluated in laboratory and the control efficacy against B. odoriphaga were also determined in the field. Results showed that New Status 0 times dilution had ovicidal activity against B. odoriphaga, and the mortality of eggs reached 54.76%, however, it showed no negative effects on 2nd, 3rd and 4th instar larvae. New Status showed obvious repellent activity to adult oviposition and larval feeding of B. odoriphaga. The oviposition repellent rate was 74.75%, and the repellent rates of larvae were 78.62% and 45.60% after 5 minutes in larvae choice and non-choice tests, respectively. Field trials indicated that New Status displayed certain controlling efficacy on B. odoriphaga, and it may increase Chinese chives yields.
