Abstract: To ensure viability of Metarhizium anisopliae and promotion of their proliferation in field, the key factors of alginate granulation with the fungus, such as gel density, carriers, active components and out membrane were investigated. The optimal granulating conditions of cross linking reaction by sodium alginate and calcium were 2% sodium alginate and 0.2-0.3 mol/L calcium chloride. Padding with 4%-10% attapulgite inside the gel granules added to fungal survival and recovery. Adding 0.5% corn flour or dextrin as pro-live agent was conducive to the fungus restoration and increased conidiation by 60%. The out membrane around granule composed of 1.5% sodium alginate and 3.5% polyvinyl alcohol had a role to withstand the attacks from environmental microorganisms.
