Abstract: Control of Grapholita molesta by using sex pheromone mating disruption was practiced in peach orchards for four consecutive years in five towns of Huishan, Wuxi, Jiangsu Province. For improvement and optimization of the technology, the results were evaluated using real-time monitoring of the population dynamics of G. molesta in peach orchards and sampling of the shoot damage. The results showed that the multi-year sex pheromone mating disruption method effectively reduced the occurrence of G. molesta in growing seasons, and that the population base of G. molesta in offseason decreased year by year. In 2021, the average mating disruption rate of G. molesta in the treated areas in Luoshe and Qianqiao were more than 94.37%. In 2021, the average shoot tip damage rate in treated area in Yangshan town was as low as 1.24%. The results show that the large-area and longtime continuous application of mating disruption method in peach orchards has achieved a good control of G. molesta.
