Abstract: To select new biocontrol agents, several endophytic fungi with antagonism against Ralstonia solanacearum were isolated from Ginkgo biloba roots and leaves. The strains were identified based on morphological characteristics and ITS sequence. Then, the bacteriostatic properties of the fermentation broth of the strain were analyzed. The results indicated that among 80 strains of endophytic fungi, 5 strains showed good antagonistic effects against R. solanacearum. Strain Gbh45 showed the strongest antibacterial effect and excellent genetic stability. The strain was identified as Nigrospora sphaerica through morphological characteristics identification and ITS sequence analysis. The fermentation broth of this strain did not change in antibacterial activity after treated with UV irradiation and wide range of temperature, and it also showed stronger tolerance under alkaline conditions than acidic conditions, indicating that fermentation broth of Gbh45 had strong stability under natural conditions. The results implied that Gbh45 had huge potential capacity to be developed into microbial agent to control R. solanacearum.
