Abstract: Dry flowable formulations of Bacillus amyloliquefaciens Jt84 with fungicidal activity against the rice blast fungus Magnaporthe oryzae were developed by spray drying. The Plackett-Burman experiments and response surface methodology were applied to optimize the spray drying technology of B. amyloliquefaciens Jt84. According to the evaluation by the response surface model established in this study, the optimum conditions were inlet air temperature of 118.9℃, feed flow rate of 25.7 r/min (680 mL/h), atomization caliber of 0.7 mm, atomization pressure of 0.2 MPa, hot air flow of 28.56 M3/h, and outlet air temperature of 80℃. Field trials showed that control efficacy of B. amyloliquefaciens Jt84 dry flowable formulation at 75 g/667 m2 against rice blast was 79.3% at rupturing stage of rice, equal to that of 75% tricyclazole wettable powder.
