Abstract: Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) can establish symbiosis with plant roots to improve plant disease resistance. The plant hormone jasmonic acid (JA) is involved in the formation of AM and mediates plant disease resistance induced by AM fungi. At present, there are a lot of literatures on AM fungi induction of plant disease resistance, but the plant resistance induced by JA-mediated AM fungi has yet to be further studied. In this review, firstly, the effects of JA on the establishment of AM symbiosis, AM symbiosis on the accumulation of JA in plants are discussed. Secondly, the influence of AM fungi on plant disease resistance and induction mechanism are introduced. Finally, the role of JA in the induction of disease resistance of AM fungi is discussed from five aspects, including the formation of defense structures, improving enzyme activity and synthesizing defense protein, inducing secondary metabolite synthesis, inducing and regulating signal molecules and the interactions between JA and other hormones. In addition, the research direction in this field is prospected, which provides useful ideas for plant disease prevention and mycorrhizal research.
