Abstract: In order to lay a foundation for the biological control of postharvest black spot of fragrant pear, the inhibition effect of Bacillus polymyxa JE53 on Alternaria alternata and the storage quality of fragrant pear were studied. Fragrant pear fruits were treated with sterile water (CK) and 1-methylcyclopropene (1-MCP) respectively as control group and treated with JE53 fermentation liquid as treatment group. Some of them were inoculated with A. alternata after being punctured, and stored in an artificial weather box to determine the inhibitory effect of JE53 on A. alternata. The others were stored in an artificial weather box to determination of fruit storage quality and physiological characteristics. The results showed that JE53 can effectively inhibit the growth of pear black spot fungus on pear fruit, and the antibacterial rate was 30.73% after inoculation and storage for 144 hours. It could also significantly increase peroxidase, catalase, and phenylalanine in pear fruit. In addition, the peel color, hardness, soluble solid and titrable acid content of pear fruits of the treatment group were better than those of the control group. The accumulation of malondialdehyde and the loss of ascorbic acid as well as the fruit weight loss rate was reduced. In conclusion: JE53 can effectively inhibit the growth of the pathogenic bacteria of black spot disease in fragrant pears after harvest, and can maintain the fruit quality better, it can be used as a resource of biocontrol bacteria for postharvest black spot disease in fragrant pears.
